Hotel Monasterio de Aciveiro is located in Forcarei, at few meters from the Route of los Puentes del Lérez and very close to the Area of Environmental Protection of the Mountain range of Candán. In 1135, as a result of the proclamation of Galician king Alfonso VII as emperor and thanks to his own donations and privileges, the construction of Santa Maria de Aciveiro begins, which would be incorporated to the Cister around 1170. The monastery maintains its totally faithful Cyster structure; around the cloistrer we have the different dependencies: the kitchen, refectory, scriptorium, cells of the monks, stables,.. Nowadays it is a Hotel Monument recently rehabilitated where they have known to combine history and functionality with modern services.
